Description
In this legal simulation, the player is in charge of a defense attorney in a criminal trial, mounting relevant objections against the prosecution's badgering of a series of key witnesses toward issuing skewed testimony in a case against your defendant, accused of murdering one Sandra Stiff, a glamourous Beverly Hills heiress. It is not enough to know when one may mount an objection, but specifically which from eleven different categories (from argumentative to hearsay to immaterial. Once in a while a legitimate question comes through and the player still needs to identify it as a proper question!)
This game has since been re-made for Windows with enhanced graphics and citation from case law.

Subject: Absurdly difficult but super addictive
Subject: IF YOU'RE CONFUSED ABOUT THE HEARSAY EXCEPTIONS:
1 - 'Former Testimony'
2 - 'Past Recollection Recorded'
3 - 'Declaration Against Interest'
4 - 'Admission or Confession'
5 - 'Prior Inconsistent Statement'
6 - 'Mental or Physical Condition'
7 - 'Dying Declaration'
8 - 'Spontaneous Declaration'
9 - 'Reputation'
When you get a question that's one of these Hearsay Exceptions, hit 'q' to indicate it being a proper question. It'll then prompt you that it's a Hearsay Exception, and ask you which kind. You then hit the number key that corresponds to the correct type of exception. Hope that helps! It's still wildly difficult to get all the way to the end and discover the true identity of the killer, but at least with the Hearsay Exceptions it's *possible*.
I genuinely love this game. I came across it somewhere on the internet when I was 12, and got really addicted to its combination of silliness and seriousness, of twitchy gameplay and legal reading comprehension. I never had any idea that it was state-accredited as an educational tool for law-schools; I just thought it was really fun! It was the first game I ever came across with such sophisticated textual randomisation (i.e. the details of the murder being different each time), and I kept being compelled to give it another try. I never finished it as a kid -- those Hearsay Exceptions were the death of me -- but coming back to it as an adult, it felt wonderful to finally be able to beat it all the way to the end. Could not recommend the experience more highly.
"No known player, lawyer or otherwise, is expected to reach this level of play. There is now but one question to answer:
NAME KILLER?"
